Simple actions can make significant changes! 

From goods receipt to plate return, food is lost at every stage of a food service operation. And these losses have significant costs… for our planet and for your organization! 

Through this online course, you will acquire the necessary tools to pinpoint the causes of food waste and to implement effective practices to reduce it. By doing so, you will be providing a more responsible, economical and sustainable service. 

This training course was designed by the local food sourcing consulting team of the ITHQ’s hospitality consulting centre, as part of the Stratégie nationale d’achat d’aliments québécois (SNAAQ). 

 This training course is intended for: 

  • Anyone involved in food service planning, production or handling  

Objectives

At the end of this training course, you will be able to identify the sources of food waste in your workplace and implement concrete actions to reduce it and mitigate its consequences.

  • What food waste is and its consequences  
  • How to identify the main sources of waste in a food service operation 
  • How to adopt best practices to reduce waste while complying with health and hygiene standards 

Conditions

  • 55-minute online training course, offered in French (duration may vary depending on the pace at which the resources are reviewed)
  • Delivery of a certificate of completion at the end of the training
