Overview
Architecture, history, culture and society are all part of this program, which will teach you everything that makes Montréal such a rich and interesting city! Thanks to numerous courses in guiding, tourist reception and group management, you will have everything on hand to become an excellent tour guide.

The Montréal Tourist Guide program is offered in collaboration with the Ville de Montréal. It is a prerequisite for obtaining the mandatory permit to work as a tourist guide in the city.

Duration and schedule
- Program starting in the fall
- Spread over 2 part-time sessions
- Includes a total of 240 hours of coursework
- Classes offered up to 3 nights per week, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., including several Saturdays

Admission requirements
To be eligible for this program, you must meet one of these criteria:
- Hold a Secondary School Diploma (SSD) or an Attestation of Equivalence of Secondary Studies (AESS), OR
- Hold a related Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS), OR
- Have completed training deemed equivalent outside of Québec, OR
- Have a combination of sufficient training and relevant professional experience
You must also:
- Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written French: refer to the Required language proficiency page for more details.
- Be fluent in oral and written English (knowledge of a 3rd language is an asset).
- Undergo an interview to assess your English and 3rd language skills, if applicable.
