The Charter of the French language and its regulations govern the consultation of English-language content.

Prepare your application

Here are the 5 steps to follow to submit an application for admission to the ITHQ as an international student.

The ITHQ offers tourism, hotel management and restaurant services programs at 3 academic levels: vocational (DVS-AVS), technical (DCS), and university (bachelor’s and certificate).

To choose the program that best suits your interests and needs:

Not all programs offered at the ITHQ are open to International students. In fact, since the Canadian government does not issue study permits for part-time programs of more than 6 months, these are excluded from the list of programs offered to international students.

French is the language of instruction at the ITHQ.

Only the following programs are given in English or both languages:

  • Applied Bachelor in Hospitality and Hotel Management (French and English)
  • Certificate in Hospitality Management and Customer Experience Design (French and English)
  • Professional Cooking (English only)
  • WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines (English only)
  • WSET® Level 3 Award in Wines (English only)

Depending on the chosen program, a proof of language proficiency in English or French could be required.

Once you have chosen your program and your language proficiency has been assessed, you need to prepare your application documents.

  • The list of documents to include with your application can be found in the Required documents section of the page of the programme you are interested in.
  • Documents must be sent in a digital format (PDF).
  • Our team will only review complete applications. To ensure your application is reviewed in a timely manner, we encourage you to send us all required documents at the same time.

Once all of your documents are ready, it’s time to submit your application.

  • You must apply online from the page of your chosen program. When you click on Submit your application, you will be redirected to the admission platform.
  • Follow the instructions.
  • Upload your documents in a digital format (PDF).
  • Pay the application fees.

Selection interview

Some applicants may have to undergo a selection interview, which will be conducted remotely.

  • Once you have submitted a full application, our team will analyze your request.
  • Admission results are sent by email usually within 6 to 8 weeks after the complete admission file is received.
  • If you are accepted, you will receive instructions about the next steps to confirm your registration and begin your immigration process.
  • Our international student services team will also get in touch with you to help you with your immigration and orientation process.
